The Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) selected AtHoc to establish secure, permission-based crisis communication both within the Pentagon itself, and with other organizations, who together needed to be able to respond in the event of an emergency. The PFPA needed to improve upon the emergency notification system in order to reduce risk and protect critical infrastructure following the direct attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
